Barbados nightclubs (mainly located in St.Lawrence
Gap and along Carlisle Bay) feature live entertainment most nights
of the week. Most bands play local music - calypso and reggae
- but there are several excellent R & B bands that play top
international music, sometimes with a Caribbean beat! Don't miss
The Whistling Frog's party nights with a street party, Karaoke
and live bands to entertain you.
John Moore Bar
Located on the waterfront, Weston, St. James, this is the most
atmospheric and least pretentious bar on Barbados. It's the nerve
center of this waterfront town, filled throughout the day and
night with a congenial group of neighborhood residents, with a
scattering of foreigners. Most visitors opt for a rum punch or
beer, but you can order up a platter of local fish as long as
you don't mind waiting.
The Rusty Pelican
Known for its an atmosphere, The Rusty Pelican is a great choice
if you're in Bridgetown at night. It's right on the waterfront,
and in addition to the good drinks, the club often has a musician
(or musicians) to entertain.
Olives Bar & Bistro
Located on Second St. at the corner of Hwy. 1, in Holetown, Olives
Bar and Bistro, is not only a fine restaurant but a good place
to spend 2 or 3 hours before or after dinner--maybe both. Found
on the second floor in a Casablanca-like setting of potted palms
and whirling fans, it draws a convivial international crowd, mostly
ex-pats, Americans, and English visitors in their 30s and 40s.convivial

Harbour Lights
Located in Marine's Villa, Lower Bay Street, about a mile (2km)
southeast of Bridgetown Harbour Lights is the most popular weekend
spot for dancing, drinking, and flirting on all of Barbados. In
a modern seafront building with an oceanfront patio (which gives
dancers a chance to cool off), the place plays reggae, soca, and
whatever else is popular until the wee hours every night. The
barbecue pit/kiosk serves up grilled meats and hamburgers. Don’t
miss Monday’s beach party night. |
